Its a bit of a weird topic, but not one I've ever seen really discussed anwhere else, so I'm going to attempt to post it here.

Its no secret that we all know that, physically speaking, Hutts aren't all that attractive. They're enormously fat, their bloated bodies slimy and covered in filth. They drool constantly, show no hesitancy when belching, and are shown to dine on live frogs and other creatures. Just as their physiques and manners are hideous, so too are their attitudes towards others. They are greedy, selfish, manipulative and even selfish. The fact that they live in such hedonistic excess at the expense of others furthers their less than desirable qualities. Even their lusts and abuse of slave girls do little to showcase anything more than the seemingly simple truth: Hutts are evil and no one should ever like them.

Yet here we are, in a community, more or less devoted to how they behave and even treat their scantily clad pleasure slaves. So here's an interesting point to bring up. Can Hutts be deemed handsome or even enjoyable company?

They are raised to behave as they are. It is a cultural thing just as much as it is a choice. Hutts see no issue with acting like egotistical megalomaniacs, and to amass vast amounts of wealth. Yet they are penalized for it, and I think this also boils down to how grotesque they look.

Just think about it. If Hutts instead would athletic and good looking aliens, would the majority find them so repulsive, even if they continued to indugle in the same hedonistic appetites? Probably not. It is a Hutt's disgusting appearance that is judged more than their callous and greedy manners. And in a way, that's sort of a form of xenophobia.

Hutt culture dictates that the creatures should eat and eat in order to get bigger, since being large is a sign of prestige and power. Yet most folks find Jabba and his fellow crime lords hideous and disgusting for such traits. You can fault Hutts for being bloodthirsty and carnal, sure, but in the end, you can't fault them for their biology.

At least that's the way I'd look at it. So here's my question finally. Is it possible for anyone, particularly a slave girl, to find her Hutt master attractive, assuming she has an unbiased outlook on his physiology? If a Hutt were benevolent and kind, but still a gluttonous blob with a penchant for attractive girls, would be still be a monster?

Thoughts?

I think it is possible for a slave girl to find her Hutt master attractive through a sort of Stocholm Syndrom kind of thing. But then again there are so many odd fetishes out there that who knows, maybe a slave girl would find a Hutt sexy.

Power is sexy to many women. If a woman likes a Hutt, it's because she recognizes him as a dominant, powerful leader in the galaxy, who can provide security and pampering. And I think Hutts are like they are because of how the species evolved. Without immediate physical strength or technological advantages they had to be cutthroat selfish intellects. The Hutt's lust for women could be seen as evolutionary advantage since it inspires them to rule the galaxy. In other words, deviance is a plus in a universe with many species.

The fact that Hutts live so long is another thing that could make them imposing to a female. In some ways, they're like gods compared to the other species in SW. ;-)
